Imamate is one of the most important principles of religion. Both Shia and Sunnis emphasize the necessity of the existence of an imam and the leader of the community, but there is a deep difference of opinion between these two schools of thought in the way of appointing an imam. Shi'a consider the Imamate as divine and appointed and have stated many reasons for their claims. One of the most important proofs that can be presented for the divinity of Imamate is verses 246 and 247 of Surah Al-Baqarah, known as "Ayah Talut". In this article, the implication of this verse on the Shia claims has been investigated and explained. The author is looking for an answer to this main question, how can one infer the divinity of the Divine Imamate from the verse of Talut? The author's claim is that this verse is in accordance with the Shia point of view and it is possible to infer the divine imamate from this verse in several ways, therefore, with the method of library and documentary, this hypothesis is proven and its possible problems are answered. The introduction of the Talot verse as another of the "Imamate verses" that proves the divinity of the Imamate and disproves its human and hereditary nature, is one of the most important findings of the present research.
